For those of you who are wanting frame drum instruction and communal practice time ~ this is for you!

Drumming with the Dark Moon

Saturday 10/14 

6:30pm - 10pm

Portia’s house

$25-$85 suggested donation 

We will gather in my cozy house to explore frame drumming as animist devotional practice. 

Over the course of the night together we will play with beginner friendly frame drum instruction and trance journeying protocols.

As well as practice ancestral connection through devotional ritual, rhythmic invocation, and shared stories, songs, and chants. 

We will attune to the energetics of the fall season and dark moon lunar phase as we drum for our dead and send our blessings through into the Otherworld. 

Please bring your own drum and any other instruments you’d like to play. 

All levels of frame drumming experience are welcome.

One of the most powerful aspects of drumming and the reason people have done it since the beginning of being human is that it changes people's consciousness. Through rhythmic repetition of ritual sounds, the body, the brain and the nervous system are energized and transformed. When a group of people play a rhythm for an extended period of time, their brain waves become entrained to the rhythm and they have a shared brain wave state. The longer the drumming goes on, the more powerful the entrainment becomes. It's really the oldest holy communion.
