A night for magically inclined folks to gather and co-create sonic spells together!

Our general flow:
Act 1 Sonic spells circle:
We will gather in a group circle to learn and share chants, rounds, songs, and sonic improv play. We will explore traditional folk songs within our cultural lineages, ritual and medicine songs, and experimental (lite)trance induction through group sounding.
Act 2 Magical mic:
Next we will shapeshift into a witchy house show and give time for folks to share songs/poems/stories (original or otherwise) while the group enjoys libations and merriment. We will co-create a super supportive open mic where we get to play with practicing our performance skills, highlighting and affirming each other's magic, and receiving generative feedback from the group.
Act 3 After hours open jam and hang:
Lastly we will make time for experimental sonic and social play. We will go until we naturally end.
This gathering is for you if you are a:
witchy inclined person (you get to self-define what that means to you) who wants to sing/chant in a group with other witchy inclined folks
longing to build magical sonic skills
interested in learning traditional folks songs, medicine songs, and ritual music
curious about trying out low-pressure performance in an affirming group of kindreds
witchy person looking for more witchy friends and community and you like to jam
Other things to know:
No music experience is necessary to join, but all levels of experience are welcome! We can help teach and encourage each other.
This will mostly be an acapella and acoustic instrument space (think - let’s learn some music we don’t need computers to access, because collapse resilience music is cool).
You don’t need to bring instruments if you don’t play or don’t feel like hauling your gear. Your voice is enough! But instruments are welcome.
